All About Albuquerque
As a real estate broker in Albuquerque, it’s our job to know about all the wonderful parts of our region. In this post, we share a variety of the best things about Albuquerque and the surrounding areas.
Sandia Peaks Provide Opportunities for Adventure
The Sandia Peaks surround Albuquerque and provide a beautiful backdrop nearly everywhere you turn. Cibola National Forest has lots of opportunity for camping, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and more. If you want to see the mountains with a little more comfort, you’ve got to check out the Sandia Peak Tramway. You can ride the Tramway to the top of Sandia Peak to get an incredible view of the city. And in the winter, there is also a ski area on Sandia Peak.
The University of New Mexico | We Love the Lobos!
The biggest university in New Mexico is located right here in Albuquerque—the University of New Mexico. And the university is home to the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology, which is open to the public. The area surrounding the university has a lot of character and great local hotspots. Historic Route 66 goes right along the south side of campus, and the Nob Hill neighborhood has many hip taquerias, breweries, and art galleries.
Downtown Albuquerque | Heart of the City
Downtown Albuquerque is a delightful part of the city, with the oldest parts of the city preserved in the Plaza and the San Felipe de Neri Church. You can visit various art galleries supporting local artists and New Mexico culture. And locals and visitors love the BioParks—the zoo, botanic gardens, beach, and aquarium.
Petroglyphs and Pueblos
There is so much amazing history and culture in Albuquerque, and you can see it at every turn. The Petroglyph National Monument has several different trails where you can get out there and see hundreds of petroglyphs. There are still 19 active pueblos in New Mexico, and you can learn more about them at the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center.
There are so many unique places to go and see in Albuquerque. Whether you want to go to brunch and shop at the galleries or ride your bike along the Bosque Trail, there is something for everyone in ABQ. To learn more about specific neighborhoods in Albuquerque, check out the links below.
